Attack on PDKI: Iran Used Missiles Launchers Stationed in Sulaymaniyah .
ERBIL
— A Kurdish journalist says the Saturday attack on the Kurdistan
Democratic Party of Iran (PDKI) bases in Koya district (some 65
kilometres southeast Erbil) was carried out by Iran from a missile
launcher stationed in Sulaymaniyah province where the Patriotic Union of
Kurdistan (PUK) is dominant.
Ali
Javanmardi, a VOA reporter and active journalist who follows the case
closely, wrote on his Facebook account that the Islamic Revolutionary
Guard Corps (IRGC) were responsible for the attack which has left dozens
killed and wounded.
According
to Javanbardi, the IRGC has possibly fired the missiles from the
launcher bases it has established in the areas under the control of its
PUK ally.
He
claimed that two members “of a Kurdish force” were involved in
facilitating the attacks against the Kurdish opposition parties.
Medical
sources said at least five people were killed and over 35 others were
wounded as the result of the attack. Several leading members are among
the wounded.
